Our Password Strength Checker allows you to see how long it will take to crack your password and to better determine how secure your password really is. If you are looking for a more secure password, we provide a Random Password Generator, which allows you to generate a secure random password.
[msp_password_strength]To check how long it will take to crack a password, simply enter your password in the green block above. Rest assured, we do NOT collect or store the passwords you enter on this site.
This unique tool automatically calculates the approximate time it would take to brute-force the password on an average computer. It takes into account the use of dictionaries and lists of common combinations of characters in English. Give it a try by entering the most common passwords like “password” or “12345678” or use first names like “Jack” or “Jill”. Now add some numbers to Jack/Jill to see how the time to crack the passwords adds up and finally add symbols like !@#$%^&, to see how longer passwords with numbers and symbols, take much longer to crack.
Tip: Some browsers offer to save passwords you enter on sites, or use one already saved for this domain. We do not recommend saving passwords in the browser, because it is not the most reliable storage method. It makes it easier for all of this autofill data to be scooped up by cybercriminals. Instead use a password manager. Contact us to get a recommended password manager based on your requirements.
Above the green block you will see Generate Password. Click it and see how long it will take to crack one of the automatically generated passwords. Go ahead, you know you want to give it a try.
